Practicing new techniques

The other night I watched this very useful video about using colour - (I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who creates art) and decided to test out some of the advice it gave on using colour schemes. That, and I recently downloaded some pretty awesome brushes on photoshop and thought I'd try those out too! Anyway, this was the end result and I think I will definitely continue to develop this way of working further.

(Also I haven't blogged in so long that I've forgotten how to save files so the white doesn't turn grey on here -.-)

For the past month or so I have been open to taking commissions for anything from watercolour paintings to digital art. Here are some of the watercolour paintings I have been commissioned to work on.

I'm still open for commission, and if you're interested you can find the information here! -

Explorer in France

Eep! I've fallen behind a bit with this blog, so it's time to post everything at once - hooray!

I'll start with an illustration I finished a while ago, inspired by a photo I saw of a street in Alsace, France. I felt doing something like this would help me practice my skills when it comes to backgrounds; in this case streets and buildings. I'm planning to do a few more like this with different settings, because it's been quite a helpful learning exercise.
